Smirnoff Fire: New Product Launch (2006)

ML & CO. collaborated on the launch strategy for the 'How Hot R U' campaign with Daniel Paquette Public Relations and Lavender Poodle Productions. ML & CO. was assigned all copywriting for the launch website (www.smirnoffhotfire.com), external e-mail teaser campaign (shown here), press releases, fact sheet, key messaging and Q & A. One hot campaign!

City Styles/Going Green, (Fall 2007)

This is a 12-page magazine style consumer publication designed to increase awareness for energy conservation amongst consumers in one of Ontario's largest electricity markets.

ML & CO. was hired to develop the strategy and concept, to write all copy and to manage production.

Public Education Centre: Toronto Hydro Energy Services & Windshare (2003)

We were asked to write copy for a public information centre to help educate passersby about the new wind turbine located at Exhibition Place in Toronto. Comprised of a series of panels, our work explains how wind turbines work and why wind energy is important for the environment.

CDM Retrospective Report: Coalition of Large Distributors (2007)

This 24-page report reflects the results achieved by 6 of Ontario's largest electricity distribution companies in the area of energy conservation program development and implementation. The report is part of the utilities' overall reputation and brand-building strategy.

For the third year in a row, ML & CO. was asked to provide a turnkey solution, which included copywriting, design and production.

Wireless and Mobile Conference (2007)

In addition to developing award-winning media relations campaigns and creating eye-popping corporate reports, ML & CO. is also garnering industry attention for its in-house speech-writing expertise. In May, 2007, one of our speeches won an Ovation Award from the International Association of Business Communicators.

For the Wireless and Mobile Conference held in Toronto in July, 2007, ML & CO. was asked to write the Keynote Address and produce the accompanying presentation materials. Wondering what the bunny is for? It's a wireless rabbit that reacts to the tone of incoming e-mail messages. Gotta love WiFi!

City Styles/Going Green (Summer 2007)

This is a 12-page magazine style consumer publication designed to increase awareness for energy conservation amongst consumers in one of Ontario's largest electricity markets. ML & CO. was hired to develop the strategy and concept, to write all copy and to manage the various aspects of production.

PowerStream: CDM Report (2007)

This 20-page report is the second conservation and demand management (CDM) report that ML & CO. has written, designed and produced for PowerStream in as many years. The report is distributed to a large industry audience, as part of PowerStream's brand-building strategy.

PowerStream: CityStyles (2008)

Two years ago, ML & CO. was asked to develop a business-to-consumer communications strategy that would help PowerStream's residential customers learn about energy conservation and take action. Our recommendation was City Styles/Going Green - a 12-page, 4 colour, bi-annual consumer publication that targets families with information about energy conservation programs, activities and tips to help them to reduce their electricity consumption.

ML & CO. developed the format for this publication, writes all copy, handles design & photography and project management.

Toronto Hydro: Corporate Responsibility Report (2007)

ML & CO. was very proud to have been selected by Toronto Hydro Corporation – one of the largest electrical utilities in Canada – to write, design and produce Toronto Hydro Corporation’s first Corporate Responsibility Report in 2007. This is a 40-page 4-colour report.

ML & CO. also designed a cross-promotional insert to draw traffic to Toronto Hydro Corporation’s website, where visitors can read the online version of the utility’s 2007 annual report, a special celebratory envelope and provided the design for the annual report site.

Toronto Hydro: Take a Load Off Toronto

In Spring 2008, with hot summer weather just around the corner, ML & CO. was asked to develop media materials, coordinate media outreach and provide strategic counsel in support of Toronto Hydro's hugely successful Take a Load Off Toronto campaign in which the utility announced give-aways of outdoor clotheslines as a way of reducing home electricity consumption. Media hits were off the charts. Even the Premier of Ontario, the Hon. Dalton McGuinty, got in on the act.

This is PowerStream Inc.'s business-to-consumer publication. It's designed to increase awareness of energy conservation amongst consumers in one of Ontario's largest electricity markets. The focus in this issue was the introduction of 'time-of-use' electricity rates. ML & CO. developed the strategy and concept, wrote all copy and managed the various aspects of production.

Trade that Matters (2009)

For its fifth Corporate Social Responsibility Report, Export Development Canada was looking for a new approach -- and ML & CO. delivered. We developed an online, interactive PDF and an accompanying 12-page colour Summary Report to help our client tell their corporate social responsibility story. ML & CO. handled all writing, design and production. The reports are both available in English and French.

Ontario Energy Board (2008)

When ML & CO. was asked to write the Ontario Energy Board's 2007 annual report, we took a slightly different approach by giving a voice to the Board's employees. ML & CO. conducted all interviews, developed content and revisions, and delivered final copy for layout to the Board's internal designers.

The Measure of our Corporate Responsibility Commitment (2008)

n 2008, Toronto Hydro Corporation asked us to work with them on their second Corporate Responsibility Report -- this one with a clear focus on what the Corporation was doing to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. ML & CO. was hired to deliver a turnkey approach. We wrote the copy, developed the design concept, and handled all aspects of layout and production.

This is the bi-annual newsletter for Canadian Depository for Securities — the infrastructure dynamo that supports Canada's capital markets. ML & CO. was hired to develop content for a series of newsletters, including interviews with internal subject matter experts, copywriting and coordinating revisions with CDS' internal graphic designers.

Delivering Value to Canada’s Capital Markets (2009)

Canadian Depository for Securities is the IT powerhouse behind Canada’s central depository. In 2009, ML & CO. was invited to help tell CDS’s story, highlighting the value CDS brings to Canada’s capital markets particularly in the wake of the economic melt-down that rocked securities markets around the world last year. Our mandate was to interview all internal subject matter experts, develop a theme and story-line and provide all content/revisions, before handing off to CDS’s internal graphic design team. The result is a 52-page report, available online and in print.
